Same city, same three nights, and two families end up paying different amounts. One finds an apartment for 1,800 lira a night outside the city. The other pays 2,000 lira in the centre. By the end of day three, the first family has spent more. That happens because Gaziantep accommodation costs are not just the nightly rate; half of the bill sits outside the listing.
The nightly rate is where the sum begins
Our list has two types of apartment. The studio sleeps two and costs 2,000 lira a night; we have three of them. The 1-bedroom apartment sleeps up to five, and its price depends on the number of guests: 2,500 lira for one or two, 3,000 for three, 4,000 for four or five. In total there are five apartments with room for 16 guests. These prices include furniture, appliances, internet and the electricity, water and gas bills. So the price list starts the sum, it does not finish it. We cover what drives the nightly rate in our article on Gaziantep daily rental apartment prices; the rest comes from transport, food and extra charges that the listing does not mention.
Where does the transport cost grow?
The cheapest listing is 599 lira, an apartment in the centre is 2,000 lira. Part of that gap goes straight back out on two taxi rides a day. Over a three-night stay, that is six rides. DHMİ's transport page shows the airport shuttle at 15 lira one way, but city taxis are a completely different line item. If you arrive by car, the question shifts to parking. Free spaces get hard to find in the centre in the evening, so ask about parking before you book.
Food costs change with the length of stay
On a two-night trip all meals are eaten out and a kitchen changes nothing. After four nights the picture shifts. For a family of four, breakfast at home pulls the daily spend down considerably. People come here to eat, so leaving lunch and dinner to the city is the right call anyway. The meal you save is breakfast. We worked out when a kitchen really pays off in our article on the daily rental apartment with kitchen.
Costs you only see if you ask
Towel and bed linen changes, mid-stay cleaning, an extra bed, late check-out and parking. Each of these five is priced separately at every place; with us, too, the extra bed, late check-out, mid-stay cleaning and parking are discussed when you book. In winter, add the question of who pays for heating; in our apartments electricity, water and gas are included in the nightly rate. When these items land on the bill afterwards, the total no longer has much to do with the figure you saw in the listing.
Three trips, three totals
For a couple on a two-night city break, a studio comes to 4,000 lira, 1,000 lira per person per night, and transport stays low. For a family of four on a three-night trip, the 1-bedroom apartment comes to 12,000 lira, again 1,000 lira per person per night, and the food bill shrinks if breakfast is made at home. If the family is five, the total stays the same and the per-person rate drops to 800 lira a night. A 15-person wedding group takes all five apartments: two 1-bedroom apartments at 4,000 lira each and three studios at 2,000 lira each, 14,000 lira a night in total, roughly 933 lira per person. Same city, same week, three different sums. In the same apartment, more guests mean a lower per-person figure, while more nights make food and heating grow. Because the two trends pull in opposite directions, no single rule works.
Which cost grows on which trip?
Which cost will squeeze you at this point? On a short trip it is transport, on a long stay food and heating, and in a large group capacity decides. On a weekend getaway, whether there is parking can make all the difference, while on a three-week assignment the same question hardly matters. Choosing with this in mind gives far better results than sorting listings by nightly price.
The cost of a trip is not visible on the booking screen. It shows up on the evening of day three, when the grocery receipts and taxi receipts are laid side by side.
